Champ #1 Rolls Off Tiger’s Assembly Line! …First Chinese Design Vehicle “Made in America”
31 July 2008 – Poteau, OK – Several hundred were present to celebrate this landmark event today showcasing a number of ‘firsts’ in U.S. industry. Tiger’s renowned Champ series of off-road vehicles is now “Made in America”. This is the ½ ton-sized truck that carries 1-½ tons of useful load and is widely used on military bases, golf courses, college campuses, industrial complexes, private residential communities and in municipalities with a competitive acquisition cost, starting at $12,995 and even more attractive low operating rate of 37 mpg.

Automotive News calls Tiger Champ “The First Pickup for $4-a-Gallon Fuel”
July 21, 2008 —The Tiger Champ gets 37 mpg with a three-cylinder diesel engine from Caterpillar Inc. It is assembled in Oklahoma and available at 70 dealerships nationwide. In June, Gov. Brad Henry signed a bill that makes the Champ and a small Tiger Truck pickup, the Star, legal starting Nov. 11 on all roads in Oklahoma except most federal highways.
